Archive for the ‘Capitalism Sucks (You Dry)’ Category

Plyaska Smerti 1

Gimmicks and flashing lights,

distractions from life,

the essential.

Advertising and capitalism:

strange dreams implanted,

exploitation, manipulation,

dumbing-down,

constant delusions, lies,

sucking you dry,

making you demented

and infected.

Virus!

Beyoncé Pours $20K Champagne Into Hot-Tub

I despise rich Russian scum,

they think they can do anything,

and they *do*,

trampling all asunder,

as if god’s “chosen”,

easing vague memories

of Stalinist excesses

with pious consumerist decadence.

They know they are disliked,

but they don’t give a shit,

time’s too precious for that,

keen awareness of transience:

today’s king, tomorrow’s Romanov

(we can hope).

Hah!

Despicable scum, indeed,

exploitative, lying, thieving criminals,

the worst form of prostitute,

rather like their compatriots,

the English, and Chinese,

Americans, French, Iranians, and on…

… People (fallen, debauched, empowered),

now there’s a story!

Jung 2

The expensive, scientifically proven moisturizer, anti-aging formula, works wonders:

it makes 16-year-old pretty girl models, look something like 16-year-old airbrushed young women.

Go get some today, at selected stores, locally.

Buy the dream.

Usury (Albrecht Dürer, 1494)

From birth, they bombard us with images and ideas:

This is what you want! This is what you desire!

They pretend that you should aspire:

There are ways and means of buying things, like happiness!

This is what makes life worth living.

Are you willing to be a member of society?

Good! Welcome, Consumer…

Unspoken rules, prices to pay

loans, usury,

slavery.

Sign your name in blood,

pledge your allegiance now,

Enjoy. Drink a Coke or five.

And please remember:

keep you hands and feet within the vehicle at all times,

and that

your insurance policy does not cover suicide.

Death Valley 6

I’m in the hotel, end of train journey.

I switch on the TV: News, and confusion.

Top story: A venerable travel company’s gone bust,

it’s been in trouble for a while,

thousands of customers stranded abroad,

fears realized (maybe they got a discount for their gamble?) …

Just one of many bad, sad and mad

gloomy news stories,

on this melancholy gray day.

But relief is at hand, “friend”, take a breath, yes, take a break,

it’s TV commercial time.

“Feeling down? Feeling blue?

Then why not book next year’s vacation now!

We’ve got some great destinations.

Book now! Beat the rush!

We’re the travel company you can trust!”

Alas, capitalism never stops.

Aus Open 4

People are starving,

living, suffering, striving, dying,

in abject poverty.

Meanwhile, “they”,

the representatives of the one percent,

wipe raindrops off a tennis court,

scraping, scuffing, foot-on dragging

21 luxury super-soft Egyptian cotton towels

(meant for the faces and soft bodies

of celebrities and rich wannabes).

Wasted.

Disgraceful.

Sick, sad society.

(Would it kill them to use a mop?)

BMW Nazi

The Nazis “lost”,

but actually they won,

(seeds) in your hearts and minds,

the machines you drive, desire.

… Money and prestige

trumps morality.
